Holiday Inn Express
The renovation of the Baton Rouge Savings and Loan Building on the corner of North Boulevard and St. Ferdinand Street will include converting the original bank building into a boutique style Holiday Inn Express. The three-story building was built in 1956, in an International Style, expressing the country’s new optimism in lending for the construction of new homes following the war. The BRSLA remained in continuous operation from the 1920s until 1982. It was most recently occupied by the East Baton Rouge Arts & Technology School. The building was purchased in December of 2013 by Pravin G. Patel, owner of Super Hospitality owner, LLC. The building is currently under construction to renovate it into an 89-room Holiday Inn Express offering its customers close proximity to North Boulevard Town Square, courthouses, and many restaurants. The $12 million renovation project is expected to complete construction in the second quarter of 2015.
