First United Methodist Church is hosting actor Tony Lawton for the next three Sundays during worship times 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. He will be performing scenes from CS Lewis’ book, The Great Divorce.
About the book:
C.S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce is a classic allegorical tale in which the narrator boards a bus on a drizzly English afternoon and embarks on an incredible voyage to the borders of hell and heaven. He meets a host of supernatural beings far removed from his expectations, and comes to some significant realizations about the nature of good and evil. An extraordinary meditation upon good and evil, grace and judgment, Lewis’s revolutionary idea in the The Great Divorce is that the gates of Hell are locked from the inside. Using his extraordinary descriptive powers, Lewis’ The Great Divorce will change the way we think about good and evil. For more information call 383-4777 or visit www.firstmethodist.org
