Freedom Journey: Remembering Martin Luther King, Jr. honors King for the 50th commemoration of his tragic assassination in 1968.The exhibit features iconic images by Somerstein who documented King and thousands of activists on the last day of the march that demanded free-and-clear voting rights for African-Americans. The images remind us of the work of MLK and represent the impact that documentary photos have on the politics of protest as well as public opinion.
