KREWE OF ORION’S 18TH ANNUAL MARDI GRAS PARADE “Orion Jet Sets”

The Krewe of Orion’s 18th annual Mardi Gras parade will roll through downtown Baton Rouge on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. This family-oriented parade begins and ends at the corner of Government Street and St. Philip Street. Parade goers will be treated to a lineup of exciting, colorful, traditional lighted and tractor-pulled floats. With a theme of “Orion Jet Sets!”, each float will be decorated to depict trendy hot spots around the world. Masked and costumed riders will throw plenty of Orion parade theme footballs, cups, plush animals, swords, doubloons, lighted throws, and beads. Marching bands, as well as riding and marching units will be among the great sights and sounds at this wonderful parade.For those wanting a lot more, consider the Krewe of Orion’s Masquerade ball indoors at the Baton Rouge River Center at 7 p.m. Celebrate a magical and exciting evening of music, dancing, and entertainment. Enjoy the parade and catch all of the throws you can as the Krewe of Orion floats and bands roll inside down the center aisle of the Exhibition Hall.
