Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Baton Rouge will be hosting the Louisiana Strong: Flood Resource Festival on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Arsenal Park, 1000 5th Street in downtown Baton Rouge next to the state capital. Partners include: All Hands, A&J Carpentry, American Red Cross, Capital Area United Way, La Appleseed, SBP, LSU Ag Center, Rebuild SOS, Restore LA, TruFund and more!
Many are overwhelmed by the stress of recovery efforts so here’s a chance to forget your cares and smile until your face hurts. Enjoy music, a fun run through the park, obstacle course, an extreme home makeover, food, lip syncing/ karaoke, games, arts and crafts, and more. This festival is for everyone involved in disaster recovery including flood victims, case managers, Construction cost analysis, data entry specialist, first responders, volunteer organizations. Vendors will be on hand providing information to assist with flood recovery.
This event, to commemorate the one year anniversary of the August Floods, will begin with a fun run through the parking beginning at 8 a.m. and then followed by many activities including: obstacle courses, recovery resources, an Extreme Home Makeover (broadcasted live), games, music, arts & crafts, etc. There will also be a moment to honor the first responders.
