PREPARING FOR THE GREAT AMERICAN SOLAR ECLIPSE 2017
PREPARING FOR THE GREAT AMERICAN SOLAR ECLIPSE 2017

Meet NASA Solar System Ambassador, Linda Gauthier, to learn about the August 21 solar eclipse and how all ages can safely view it either from Baton Rouge or from the path of totality. Even your littlest astronomers will enjoy Moon Bear’s Shadow story time and activity with our planetarium educators. At 2 PM, join us in the planetarium for a featurette on the Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017 followed by Earth, Moon & Sun to learn more about the relationship of these celestial bodies. Visitors will also examine the basics of fusion and solar energy; why the sun rises and sets; solar and lunar eclipses; and the Moon’s orbit, craters and phases.
