It’s harvest time at Red Stick Farmers Market. Tables are full of fall produce with bright colors of orange, green, and yellow. Autumn is a great time for hearty winter greens with an abundance of collard, mustard, and turnip greens along with crowd favorite kale! Shoppers will also find pumpkins, green beans, corn, green onions, and satsumas.
Special guest chef for the November 10th Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration is culinary activist, and TV and radio personality Poppy Tooker. Ms. Tooker is producer and host of Louisiana Eats!, a NPR-affiliated radio show that features stories of local chefs, farmers, and culinary traditions. Ms. Tooker will share details from her latest book, Pascal’s Manale Cookbook, beginning at 10 am inside Main Street Market this Saturday.
