In a revamp of the Summer Sounds at St. James program, Chris LeBlanc will be performing in Bishops Hall at St. James on Wednesday evening, July 25 at 7:00 p.m.
Chris LeBlanc has been a mainstay on the Louisiana music scene for over 20 years, playing local and regional shows, throughout the U.S., and Europe. He has been billed with such artist as ZZ Top, Hank Williams Jr, Buddy Guy, Dr John, BB King, Vince Gill, and Brett Michaels. He is described as “a musician’s musician and a performer’s performer.” LeBlanc has released four CDs since 1995 on his own label, Sweetroll Records, as well as recording with other legendary artists, including Bobby Charles, Dr. John, Sonny Landreth, Bobby Charles, and others.
Chris’ music resonates a rich bluesy sound of the south and pays homage to some of his greatest influences, including The Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters, and every juke joint in between. His show includes original pieces as well as covers ranging from The Beatles and Creedance Clearwater Revival to Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters.
General admission is $10; college students with a valid ID will be admitted free. A reception follows so the audience may have an opportunity to meet the performers, obtain memorabilia and recordings, and enjoy the St. James Artists’ Guild Summer Exhibition and Sale.
