Downtown Utility & Waste Draft Ordinances
Downtown Maintenance Committee began in 2015 to "enhance the built and natural environment by increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance resolutions through the development of ordinances, educational campaigns, enforcement procedures, and volunteer/funding activities compatible with the current dynamic and condition of the Downtown Development District."
The Downtown Maintenance Committee has drafted two ordinances to address the current issues regarding long-lasting utility paint markings and waste receptacles left in the public right of way. In general, the utility paint ordinance draft requires the use of water-based paint and the waste ordinance draft limits the amount of time receptacles can be left in the public right of way with the boundaries of the Central Business District to between the hours of 10pm - 8am and 2pm - 4pm.
