Downtown Parking


Designated spaces for veterans, mobility-impaired persons, electric vehicles, and fire lanes are always enforced and are clearly marked by signage and curb striping. Loading zones and on-street parking spaces are free on weekends and holidays, with enforcement taking place 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday - Friday. There is a 2-hour maximum time limit for on-street parking in each designated parking zone during enforcement times. If a pay station is broken or malfunctioning, please pay at the next closest pay station or on the app.

Parking Garages


We encourage all downtown visitors to park in one of our eleven parking garages. Listed within the Explore Map as well as on the printable Parking Guide are the hours of operation and costs for each garage. The downtown parking garages are well lit and are in close proximity to many key attractions. These parking options are meant to help better serve you – our guests.

Surface Parking Lots


Surface parking lots are also available throughout the downtown area. Rates will range in price.

Surface parking lots are managed by private individual companies, and all inquiries should be directed to the appropriate management company. To find the management company responsible for each lot, click here.

Valet Parking


Valet parking is another option offered in downtown Baton Rouge. Please call the selected venues for more information.

On-Street Meter Parking


On-street meter parking is always available. The metered parking spaces are enforced from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Please be aware of specially designated parking zones (Marked by BLUE, RED, GREEN, or YELLOW painted curbs) Parking in handicap spaces, veteran spaces, electric vehicle spaces, fire lanes, or loading zones without proper documentation will result in a fine. On-street meter parking and loading zones are free after 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday, and holidays.

Handicap Parking


In addition to ADA accessible parking within the garages, many handicap parking locations are available on-street.

Green Park


Green Park is a city-wide Electric Vehicle Awareness Program. Downtown Baton Rouge has 10 electrical vehicle charging locations currently operational as part of the Green Park initiative.
