DOWNTOWN GREENWAY AT EXPRESSWAY PARK

The first piece of the long-awaited Downtown Greenway, a 2.75-mile walk and bike path linking downtown to the inner-city, has been completed. The new greenway trailhead is located at the Expressway Park in Old South Baton Rouge which sits at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and 11th Street near Government Street, directly below the junction of Interstates 10 and 110. This first phase of the three-part project includes 700 feet of new trails connecting Myrtle Avenue to South Boulevard at East Boulevard. The park will also include facilities like bike racks, exercising equipment, picnic tables, benches, handicapped accessible ramps and pathways between parking lots.
