Downtown Distinction Awards

Share:

The Downtown Distinction Award Campaign has recognized downtown businesses/organizations that exhibit excellence in exterior maintenance and property beautification. Each month one business/organization was recognized in a specific category as the Downtown Distinction Award winner. At the end of each campaign, a 'People's Choice' award winner was chosen from the 12 previous monthly award winners. The Downtown Maintenance Committee’s campaigns promote a clean community, in partnership with the Downtown Development District, Visit Baton Rouge, Keep Baton Rouge Beautiful, and the Downtown Business Association.

A vote by the people from the past winners has finished out the 2018-2019 campaign with the recognition of the Hilton Capitol Center as the Downtown Distinction People's Choice Award winner! The Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center is located in the heart of downtown adjacent to the Mississippi River, Shaw Center, and Raising Cane's River Center, less than five minutes to the Louisiana State Capitol and three miles from Louisiana State University. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the first historic buildings to be renovated in Downtown Baton Rouge. The Hilton meticulously maintains and beautifies their sidewalk, tree wells, and flower pots. Congratulations to the Hilton Capitol Center for winning the 2018-2019 People's Choice Award and thank you for contributing to downtown's quality of place!!!
