BRMHS INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC DEPT.
BATON ROUGE JAZZ ENSEMBLE

‍Outstanding Jazz Ensembles and Combos from five area high schools and one middle school will participate in this year’s 57th Annual Fortier-Gerbrecht Jazz Invitational Concert partnered by the Baton Rouge Magnet High School Instrumental Music Department and the Baton Rouge Jazz Ensemble. Performing ensembles that are known for delivering stellar Invitational performances every year are from St. George Catholic School, Baton Rouge Magnet High School, Woodlawn High School, Catholic High School, Central High School, and St. Michael High School.

Over the years, the Jazz Invitational Concert has proven to be a great showcase of talented young jazz musicians. Back by popular demand to the 2024 line-up is the Baton Rouge Jazz Ensemble. With a mission of spreading the sounds of Big Band Jazz throughout BR and surrounding communities, BRJE is an 18-piece Big Band comprised of professional and amateur musicians, incorporated in Louisiana as a 501(c)(3) non-profit
organization.

This program is made possible in part by a grant from the Charles Lamar Family Foundation, as administered by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge.

Event Price: $12.00
Location: Manship Theatre, Lafayette Street, Baton Rouge, LA, USA
