Making its debut at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival (and winning the Founders Award for best narrative feature), Burning Cane is set against the backdrop of the cane fields of rural Louisiana. The story follows an aging mother as she struggles between her religious convictions and the love of her son. The film was written and directed by New Orleans-born filmmaker Phillip Youmans, who started production between his junior and senior years of high school, and finished around graduation. Come see this young local filmmaker's astounding debut, here, at Manship Theatre!
