Come ride downtown with us!

The Downtown East Social Ride is a free, casual community bike ride that brings people together to explore Baton Rouge on two wheels. Founded in 2019, the ride rolls out from Electric Depot (1509 Government Street) on Monday evenings and takes riders on a relaxed route through Downtown, Mid City and surrounding neighborhoods.

This isn’t a race, and you don’t need fancy gear or serious cycling experience to join us. The whole idea is right there in the name: social ride. We ride at a comfortable pace, regroup along the way and make sure nobody gets left behind.

Routes change from week to week, giving riders a chance to discover different parts of the city, meet new people and experience Baton Rouge from a perspective you just don’t get through a windshield. Some weeks include special destinations, events or stops, and throughout the year we mix things up with community activities and special rides.

Our group is made up of everyone from longtime cyclists to people who haven’t been on a bike in years. Bring a bike, bring some water, bring your lights, and bring a friend!
