Join us Thursday, February 13th in collaboration with Southeastern Louisiana University's Centennial Women's Suffrage Program, featuring scholars Dr. Carole Madere, Dr. Elizabeth Hornsby, Dr. Samantha Cavell, and Dr. Lisa Moody. This multi-faceted discussion brings to the foreground topics related to women's history and celebrates the centennial of women's suffrage, providing an overview of the suffrage movement both in Louisiana and the United States as a whole.

In conjunction with this lecture, the Old Governor's Mansion will open the exhibit First Ladies of the Old Governor's Mansion, exploring the significant position of Louisiana's first lady and the ways that different women have shaped the role to make their own contributions to their husband's administrations. The exhibition features inaugural gowns, jewelry, photographs, and letters highlighting the changing role of the first ladies and women over the past decades.

Doors open at 6 pm for appetizers and wine before the lecture and exhibition.
