LASM - March Free First Sunday
LASM's Free First Sunday program will be back on Sunday, March 5th, from 1 PM – 5 PM. First Free Sundays at the LASM and Irene W. Pennington Planetarium ensure free admission on the first Sunday of each month.
The First Free Sunday program guarantees anyone who comes to the LASM on the First Free Sunday of the month, regardless of financial standing, will be able to experience exposure to the arts and sciences at no charge. This programming gives a diverse audience access to LASM’s Main 1 Gallery exhibition Diamonds of History: Mighty Women by Ashley Longshore, a first-rate experience in the state’s largest and most technologically advanced planetarium, a glimpse of a Ptolemaic-era mummy, an authentic Triceratops skull, and so much more.
In 2022, program attendance nearly doubled, with over 8,000 visitors enjoying free admission to the museum and unlimited shows in the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium.
This month's Free First Sunday is generously sponsored by the Charles and Carole Lamar Fund of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation (BRAF).
Companies or organizations interested in sponsoring a future Free First Sunday at LASM can contact LASM Development Director Frances Lee at flee@lasm.org.
