RED STICK FARMER'S MARKET
The first Saturday of the year is here and that means great local food, friends, and art! Strawberry season is upon us and you’ll find flats of sweet Louisiana berries along with jelly, syrup, cakes, and wine. The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions on planting spring vegetable gardens and the nurseries will have plenty of tomato, strawberry, and spring vegetable plants. Inside Main Street Market, the weekly cooking demonstration will feature Chef Jared Tees from L’Auberge Casino preparing a seasonal dish for shoppers to taste. The cooking demonstration begins at 10 am inside Main Street Market.
Red Stick Farmers is an open-air, producer-only market, which ensures that all produce sold at the market is grown locally by each farmer. During peak seasons, we operate up to 7 weekly locations of the Red Stick Farmers Market in different areas of the city. Red Sick Farmers Market has over 50 member farmers with a variety of locally grown products including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, seafood, artisan breads, homemade pies, honey, milk and cheese, native plants, herbs, and specialty food items. The Markets provide vital economic opportunities for local farmers, keeping our local food system healthy, strong and vibrant. For more information visit www.breada.org
Cash, credit, debit and Louisiana Purchase cards are accepted at all locations of the Red Stick Farmers Market. Red Stick Farmers Market has a no pet policy.
