Share:

After a brief hiatus, we’re pulling out our gumbo pots to celebrate our 70th (yes, 70th!) year of serving the community with food, fun, and fellowship with one flavorful day of GUMBO on Friday, March 25, 2022, for lunch & dinner.

Lunch: 11 am - 1 pm (Dine-In, Take-Out, or Drive-Thru Pickup)

Dinner & Family Fun: 6 - 8 pm (Dine-In or Take-Out)

Location: Both at St. James Episcopal Church, Bishops Hall (Corner of Florida

St. and North Fourth St. in downtown Baton Rouge)

HISTORY

This Baton Rouge Lenten tradition started in 1951 and has grown into a hallmark event the city looks forward to every year. Hundreds of volunteers serve thousands of bowls of delicious gumbo to the city, raising money for church ministries and bringing the greater Baton Rouge community together for food and fellowship.

MENU

LUNCH (11 am - 1 pm)

DINE-IN OR TAKE-OUT: Gumbo (chicken & sausage or shrimp), rice, house salad, bread, dessert, and iced tea, coffee, or water.

DRIVE-THRU PICKUP: Available for boxed lunches and pints and quarts of gumbo, rice, coleslaw, dessert, and mini baguette. Pick up in your car on the Northbound Lane on Fourth St. in front of Bishops Hall in the designated lane.

Location: St James Episcopal Church, North 4th Street, Baton Rouge, LA, USA
