Strong & Calm Warrior Yoga is back! Yoga with Brandi
Strong & Calm Warrior Yoga returns this weekend! The 2022 edition continues Saturday, April 2, at 8am inside the USS KIDD Veterans Museum. Admission is free and open to the public. Come for yoga, then stay downtown for the monthly Arts Market and weekly Farmers Market. Dates for the remainder of the year are May 7, June 4, August 6, September 10, October 1, November 5, and December 10.
Join USS KIDD, the Mayor’s Advisory Council on Veterans Affairs, and Yoga with Brandi for our free monthly partnership yoga class designed for Veterans, Active Military, and First Responders, along with their supporters and families. This basic functional yoga class combines easy and accessible postures with relaxation techniques focused on breathing, stretching, strengthening and stability for all bodies, all abilities, all skeptics, and is adaptable to injuries. No previous yoga experience is required, so it’s perfect for beginners.
Research has shown that many forms of yoga and mindfulness can not only improve physical health and healing but can possibly reduce the effects of PTSD, anxiety, addictions, insomnia, and other mental conditions in addition to increasing mindfulness, flexibility, balance, mobility and strength.
Everyone is encouraged to try this yoga practice in our beautiful, private, safe, non-intimidating museum overlooking the Mississippi River and USS KIDD with our caring, knowledgeable instructor, Brandi Hanson. Please bring your own yoga mat. Admission is free and open to the public.
