This Fall, the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is bringing back the popular Sunday in the Park series! Sunday in the Park is a free outdoor concert series that takes place in the Fall and Spring each year. This year’s Fall Series begins October 6th and will be held at the Shaw Center for the Arts Plaza located at 100 Lafayette St in Downtown Baton Rouge. The musical lineup includes: After8 (Variety) on October 6, Denton Hatcher & Ben Bell (Singer/Songwriter) on October 13, Chubby Carrier (Zydeco) on October 20, Herman Jackson (Jazz) on October 27, Dysfunctional Bone (Brass Band) on November 3, and Mike Zito (Blues) on November 10.

“Sunday in the Park provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate community and enjoy music from across Louisiana in a fun, family-friendly environment,” says Jonathan Grimes, Sunday in the Park coordinator for the Arts Council. In addition to featured talent from local musicians, family-friendly activities will include face painting, balloon art, and more. Bring your dancing shoes and your favorite lawn chair when you join in the fun!

Support for this free Concert Series comes from the Office of the Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, the Baton Rouge Metro Council, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, Shaw Center for the Arts, Manship Theatre, and 225 Magazine. For more information about Sunday in the Park, visit www.artsbr.org or contact Jonathan Grimes at JGrimes@artsbr.org.
