The Office of the Mayor-President has partnered with several businesses, community and faith-based partners to host a citywide event in observance of May as Mental Health Awareness Month and to also provide an atmosphere of relaxation and self-care amid events that have resulted in communal trauma, e.g. suicides, drownings, the Secor fishing boat capsizing, restorative justice issues and other local, regional and national scenarios impacting our general wellbeing. Learn there's a name for what you are feeling...like disenfranchised grief. Distinguish between what mental health is and what it is not. Learn simple mind, body techniques or participate in a yoga demonstration or merely just enjoy a snowball while walking barefoot in Galvez Plaza. Enjoy live music. This is a family friendly event. Masks are encouraged . Hope to see you there!
