SPANISH TOWN WALKING TOUR

Spanish Town Tour 2:30 PM to 3:45 PM. $20 General ticket. Join Tour Guide, Robert Freeland, as he debuts a NEW tour of the Historic Spanish Town neighborhood. Founded by Spanish Canary Island settlers in 1805, Spanish Town is Baton Rouge’s oldest neighborhood. Hear history brought to life. Space is limited. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.com. Patrons are advised to dress comfortably.

First Free Sunday at Capitol Park Museum Bonus Lecture 1:30PM - Recovered Memories Lecture, Tour Guide and Friends of the Cabildo Board Member, Robert Freeland, will give a presentation exploring Spain’s influence on the development of New Orleans, its support of the American Revolution and Spain’s lasting legacy on American culture.

First Free Sunday at Capitol Park Museum Bonus - CISLANDERUS Exhibition Tour, 3:45 PM – 4:30 PM. FREE ADMISSION - Found in the 3rd floor gallery of the Capitol Park Museum. Robert Freeland will give a tour of CIslanderUS: Canary Islanders in the United States. This exhibition is the work of researcher Thenesoya V. Martin De la Nuez and Photographer Anibal Martel. With focus grounded in cultural and insular studies, documentary photography, and anthropology, this exhibition shows the faces and lives of a community on the verge of disappearance.
