The Art of Claudia Hayden: Sight & Sound at LASM
Join us on Friday, April 12, from 6 PM-8 PM for an Art After Hours Live Jazz Concert, The Art of Claudia Hayden: Sight & Sound at LASM, featuring Baton Rouge native Claudia Hayden, in conjunction with the museum’s current exhibition in The Republic Finance Gallery, Improvisation: The Art & Healing Power of Jazz.
Along with being a nationally renowned flautist, composer, and songwriting producer, Claudia Hayden has taken her passion for art to the next level by incorporating musical influences into her visual creations. Her 1995 collection of drawings titled The Music Series is currently on view in LASM’s Improvisation: The Art & Healing Power of Jazz exhibition, which celebrates the history of jazz and its ability to positively affect the human condition.
Claudia Hayden’s versatility also extends to broadcast television as a director, producer, and editor, in addition to voice-over talent, graphic design, and virtual event production. Her varied skills showcase her relentless commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is deemed possible in the world of multimedia.
But music has always played a prominent role in Hayden’s life. As an accomplished national recording musician and multidisciplinary artist, Hayden has spent the past 30 years living in New York City creating her Billboard-charting music, including “Wi-Fi,” “I’ve Got This,” “Central Park West,” and “Turn Me Up.”
The doors to The Republic Finance Gallery will open at 6:00 PM. Visitors will be able to view the exhibition from 6 PM-7 PM, with the live jazz concert beginning at 7 PM in the Bert S. Turner Family Atrium. Tickets are $30 for non-members and $20 for members and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE.
