Virtual Lunchtime Lagniappe: Rediscovering & Constructing a Family Narrative with Stephen Hammond
Join us on Wednesday, October 9 for a Virtual Lunchtime Lagniappe featuring Stephen Hammond as he presents “Rediscovering & Constructing a Family Narrative.” Mr. Hammond, a 7th-generation member of the Syphax family with deep Louisiana roots, has been a genealogist for over 50 years. He is passionate about sharing his family’s story and encouraging others to explore their own histories. Discover how Mr. Hammond is currently working to unite descendants of those enslaved at the Arlington House Plantation (VA) and how they are collaborating with the National Park Service to create a more inclusive interpretation of the site's history.
